**SPOILER ALERT**

My book reviews are written as a discussion of a book, and not as an advertisement.  Please be aware that there may be information that some would consider spoilers.  Continue on at your own risk!

Writing these reviews are like closure when I finish reading a book.  I leave the book on my Kindle until I publish my review.  Sometimes it’s a nice reflection where I appreciate the story as a whole.  And sometimes it’s something I want to rush through to forget the experience of reading the book.  I’m going to make this one short, in fact I’ll go ahead and combine books 4 and 5 in this review.  Here is what I thought….

Plot

Thor and his morally upright companions and friends save some people and do the right thing.

Plot Score: 1/5

World Building

At this point, it’s just stupid.  A place where it rains spiders in the evening?  Instead of wonderfully quirky (as a Neil Gaiman could have pulled off) it comes off as childish and lazy.

Location Score: 1/5

Characters and Relationships

These characters are so one note.  I can’t say how many times people just ‘feel’ things and know things based on their instincts.  Again, just lazy writing (which is inspiring this lazy review)

Characters Score: 1/5

Life Lessons (fka Bigger Meaning)

None

Bigger Meaning Score:  0/5

Style

This is obviously written for kids, as each character is either perfectly good or terribly evil.  There are a lot of plot lines that are just filler.  I think this guy wrote 1 or 2 OK books, got a deal and took a 3 book series and has stretched it for all it’s worth.

Style Score: 1/5

Final Thoughts?

-My lesson learned is to stop while I’m ahead.  I have two other unfinished series that I feel obligated to read (as I’ve purchased the books), but you know what- life is too short for this mess!

Total Score and Recommendation

4/25- AVOID AT ALL COST
